2) is a Twitter account designed by a fan that tries to unite all of Jessie's fans through the twitter verse
3) Here I typed into twitter Jessie J fans and there you will get a huge amount of tweets directed at Jessie from Fans or fans commenting about Jessie giving their opinion.

BLOGGING: promotion

There is a lot of promotion for Jessie J in the music industry for example interviews, posters, radio interviews, fansites.

This is an advertisement for the radio show 'Capital fm' on channel 95.8, this is used to promote the radio show but also to promote each individual star that appears in the advert, as they are all recognised and if a fan likes the artist he/she will then go onto capital in order to hear their favourite new fresh songs by E.G. Jessie J whos is a frequent song choice on the radio show.

This is an interview of Jessie J on Capital FM which is also a form of promotion for not only herself but for her forthcoming album that her fans will be excited to listen to.

This is Jessie J on a webchat to fans where she has to answer questions from her fans for 15 minutes, this was very exciting as it allowed her to interact with her fans on a one to one basis, which would have made her fans really happy. This is a good idea that can be used for our own artist during this project to let her interact with fans for at least 15 minutes to get some buzz around the artist.

More Inspiration

Part of Costume

This picture is of a newspaper I took a picture of on the bus. I took this picture because the mask or face paint of the girl's face looked like the mask we want to use for our music video. So we could use the design of the mask in our music video if we decide to.

Interview ...Form of promotion

Interview with Jessie J

This a six minute interview. It is basically to people asking Jessie questions and laughing with her etc. This is another form of promotion for Jessie because the people that haven't seen Jessie anywhere but happened to see this interview will find out who she is if they didn't know before.

Test shots of Location

Pre-Production

 Weather
As we were given a 'head start' towards our production we had Rebecca's 3 hour lesson on  monday (today) to begin filming. So we decided that it would be best to make use of the time by filming our intro for the song.
It is essential to know what the weather would be like so i took it upon myself to search the weather forcast for monday 22nd October 2012.
However, as i am aware of the fog and the mist to look forward to on this day we still think its worth going there to at least try out some shots with the hope that  maybe this misty and Fog atmosphere may interestingly contribute to how affective out intro will turn out.

VLOG - reflecting on Progress

Health&Safety

This form was given to us to sign and was then handed back to our teacher. This is an important form which confirms our permission with the use of equipment.

Fansites

This is a screen grab of a fansite page. Pages such as these are important as they are ways of reaching a wider audience and also strengthning the idea of social media.

Interview - Evening with Jahanna

I considered it to be beneficial filming an interview with Jahanna Gooding who is a example of our target audience profile. I found it interesting retrieving some of her opinions about the song and her relations towards it. This helps with our preparation for our production, bearing mind what our audience expect from us and presenting it in a way which openly relates to them.

Thoughts about work

So Far, as a group i think we have progressed in terms of preparation and planning for our production. Up until now we are still coming across different conventions of music videos and consider it to be important as they help up with our own ideas. Our storyboard needed to be complete with a solid ending. We are still in the process of contributing our ideas toward the end of our song.

In terms of Blogging i am impressed with they way i and my group are keeping pace with each other and making sure that we are all on the same level if not past. The impact of this shows that we have all worked well together as a group towards our production.

Budgeting

A key factor about music videos which has not really been mentioned during our research is Budgeting. As were are only minor A2 Students we don't have the means to contribute thousands/millions of pounds towards our production.  Realistically we are not looking forward to spending that kind of money on our music videos but we are willing to incorporate quality of editing, to keep our production up to a reasonable but yet good standard by making great use of all we have.

After researching these mind-blowing statistics ( Screen grabs shown above) i watched my personal favorite and a universal classic made by Micheal Jackson which has been identified to obtain the highest expense of input money towards its production.
Michael Jackson - Beat it

As we can see in this music video the base tracks and locations that are used have high costs towards using them. The costs for setting it up and space given just for this particular music video to happen involved them having a high price range. On the other hand, the budgeting used in our music video is intended to be nowhere near £15,000 as we wouldn't be gaining any profit from it but there are cost towards it. In terms our uses of locations there are no prices for using them as the locations that we have chosen are all in open/free zone areas such as the parks, Green room in college and my house.
This will involve the props we will use for the suggestions we made for amplification and also for costume.Below is a shortlist of the purchases we are capable of inquiring.

Candle - £1.99

Mask- £2.50

Total Amount: £4.49

Production Schedule+Changes made

Our initial production schedule was clarified on a table form page. As we went further into our production and preparation for it we made changes of the days we had which were available to use.

As the production schedule initially was we came across things which effected our schedule for production. These things included:

- Illnesses
- costume
- preparation for each day
- Times the equipment was available

All these things have a large impact on the changes we have been making in our schedule. At lot of it which has given us a mind set of taking a different approach toward each production day we have by making it productive and useful towards our composition.

Themes associated with our song

Role of social media

This screen shot was taken off a website (http://schedule.sxsw.com/) which caught my attention with this particular section on it which i found. This goes more into the life of the music industry and how success can only be kept for the digital music companies if they are able to engage people. People at large seem to have a strong connection and bond with music (listening to it alone) therefore it would be nessasary for muic industry to keep a social bond with their audience / public to keep it running on secure and effient grounds, not only this but also to be able to keep them running for a long period of time.

Elements for Amplification

These chosen images caught my eye as i found them as interesting forms of amplication for us to use in out music video.
The Chains represent the idea of  being broken emotionally and as chains are really hard to break it create more of an impact as to how strong the character/performer's bond was with her lover.
The Birds add to the meaning of her freedom and being able to be far away from where she belongs(space).
The cracked glasses adds meaning to her character and represents her as being fragile and creates the sense that she could be in peices(emotionally).

A candle is also an important element of amplification that may show connection and meaning through the song just by the sense of peace and humbleness it brings. This would also be suitable for our artist to use in the video as we intend to present her as a person who seeks peace and emotional restoration in her life.

Planning - 'To Do' List

This list is particularly the things that my blog is missing and it is to create the sense of updates which need to be made.
I think so far the ideas my group and myself have come up with are good. However i do think we should put those ideas into visual action and by being productive with the time we have together. The test shots would be helpful to do for us to get an idea of what expect before our production and to try out different shots with the performer to keep things well planned and organised. Interviews will also be an interesting way of getting my blog into shape with the views and encouragement from friends that are examples of our audience profile and their opinions of our upcoming remake.

Teacher's FeedBack

After receive my feedback from Louisa about my blog, she hinted that i should try and use more media technology for my blogging tasks and also to think around them ( other stuff that relatively suitable to blog about). She also made me aware that i should alway try to complete each blog in detail before moving on to the next. I found all these comments helpful to keep me on track in terms of blogging and to bare in mind as to what standard i need to meet for each one. This will not only have my work produced to detail but it will also make a huge difference as to how interesting and entertaining my blog is.

As a result of this i have re-written the blogging list for our advanced portfolios along with the additional research, planning and ideas made around the original tasks.

Reflection progress on blog

Planning - A few tips on how to make our MV proffessional

This video performs as a helpful guide and provides a clear demonstration of how effectively we can edit. This will stimulate our ideas of how to use final cut pro such as being able to sync manually and how to line up the clips with our the music file (audio import) quickly so it makes our video effective and efficient.

Planning - Risk assesment

Weather Forecast

Now that we know the period of days we intend to film. It is important to check what the weather condition would be like for these days. If we are not mindful and aware of the risks associated with the weather we may get unlucky with the unexpected (typical london weather!!) :/

Travelling with equiptment:

When making our way to our chosens locations we need to be responsible with the way we carry the equipment(camera, tripod, memory cards, etc). First of all, the way we handle them is important as they are valuable products from the college and will also effect our filming . We need to try our best to avoid overcrowed places with the equipment so that nothing gets trampled on or 'kicked' without notice.

This gif shows the sort of things we should avoid whilst filming.

Music Videos that influenced ideas

Conclusion

In conclusion; most of the music videos that had influence on the music video that my group and I are going to make all had:

  • Dresses or smart wear (in terms of costume)
  • Nice plain make up
  • Overlapping (transitions)
  • Dark colours
  • Spacey locations
  • Inside and outside locations
  • Nice views
  • Different angled shots
Compared to my groups music video, some of these key common factors will be kept the same whilst others will be different.

How song got heard

In our pitch we said that our song would be available for viewing on youtube first before we start allowing people to download it on youtube.

This is because if the artist becomes popular on youtube then that means that people will be interested to actually buy the song on iTunes. That way, we are able to moniter how much fans the artist has and how many people are interested in their music, through the like and dislike button.

In real life; the actual song itself is sold for 99p

And the top one is a highly popular download, therefore this means that although piracy still exists, fans are still supporting their favourite artists.
