The first digipak I will be analysing will be from Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' CD...
This is a good example because, although the artists' face isn't seen at all, the fact that Michael is an extremely well known world wide artist, the audience will already know who he is.
As you can see, the artist's and album name is very clear on the front of this digipak which is a key convention because if the audience cannot read what the digipak says, it may prevent them from purchasing it.
There is clearly a spine with the artists' name on it, although it wasn't mentioned in the 'conventions' prezi and there is also the date it was released next to it also. Along the spine you may also be able to see the word 'EPIC' which is possibly the name of a record company or something else.
At the back of this digipak, you can see that the track listings are displays around his image which are also numbered.
Also at the back, the record label he is signed to it listed, a bar code, and the rest of the writing on this is the product information listed under the tracks.
The next digipak is by Justin timberlake...
This is yet another good example; there is more than one clear image of the artist, there is a clear font (may not be clear because picture is a little blurry), the artists' name is also on the digipak.
The same font is used throughout the digipak, there is product information, track listings and a website at the bottom of the front of the digipak.
The final digipak I will analyse is from the Saturdays...
Just like the other digipaks I have analysed, this example has all of those same conventions. These include: a clear font, track listings at the back of the digipak, product information, a bar code, the record label (which is a very small image at the bottom of the back of the digipak), it also has a clear picture of the group.
All three of these digipaks relate to our genre because one of our genres is r&b so the conventions are expected to be the same as our ancillary product.
They related to our audience because of the same reason as above, because it is an r&b song, the audience would expect to see these in particular conventions that we will use to make our own digipak for our artist.
