Blogging Task on Carol Vernallis
Carol vernallis studied editing and camera work closely in music videos, she explains that there is more editing in music videos than there are in films and she argues that music videos hold editing that is rhythmic and are closely connected with a selected song.
She tells us that the usual thing music videos do is use continuity editing which is used to draw the atttention of what is going on.
There are lots of kinds of editing used in the making of a music video eg jumpcuts, slow motion, obvious edits, camera moving in time with the music, repeated shots of the artist, use of base tracks and editing in time with the beat of the song.
