Laura Mulvey's Theory

What I understand by Laura’s theory on representation is that despite the sexual imbalances in the world today, the main desire of men is to feast their eyes on a stereotypical image of women which is the fact that their main purpose is to pleasure men by exposing themselves. 

One example of this illustration is 'Ciara - Ride'

I think this demonstrates Laura’s theory because in this video, the singer is solely singing about what sexual acts a man likes. This is also demonstrated through her seductive dancing throughout the music video; this proves what Laura is saying.

Another example of this is shown in 'Taio Cruz - Dynamite'.

I chose this video as another example because it is another clear example of Laura's statement. The women in this video are only displayed as seductive and sex objects through the way they are dressed, their behaviour towards the main artist and their facial expressions as well.
